Hello everybody. Today i'll be explaining to you how you can make money from writing articles. You maybe thinking that this is similar to my guide on ebook writing, but it isn't the same, although there are some similarities between them. What i mean about writing articles, is that you should write about what you're passionate about and what interests you the most, otherwise you won't likely complete your article(s) and not doing so would mean you don't make much, if any money at all.
Article writing can come in many different focuses, such as being a freelance writer, which means you write for companies or individuals on a project-by-project basis. Writing articles as a freelance writer has both advantages and disadvantages to it. The advantages of freelance writing is that you can write when you want, where you want, and however you want (as long as it isn't plagiarized) at the comfort of wherever you find suitable. Being a freelancer will also allow you to negotiate and make deals with your employers so that you could earn more and have a flexible schedule. The disadvantages of freelance writing is that you have to personally manage your finances very well and save enough money to pay taxes, bills, etc.. Another disadvantage is that your employer doesn't provide health benefits to you or your family meaning that you have to purchase your own health insurance. A disadvantage to some people would be that there is no boss or other employees to encourage you or to compete with you. Without competition or encouragement, you are less likely to be motivated to do your work very well.
If you're just interested in writing a few articles in your spare time, then you should join sites such as Hubpages, AssociatedContent, EzineArticles, Bukisa, and Triond. These sites pay you upfront depending on the quality of your article. They will pay between $2-$10 for a decent article with over 400 words, and will continue to pay you more for every thousand views. Most of them pay around $1.50/1000 views. Do not bother trying to view your own articles to increase view-count because it won't work out well. When you submit an article to these sites, they will take a few days to review it before posting it on their website in order to check if there were any copyrighted content. Once they accept your article, the money will come slowly and steadily unless you were writing about a niche, in that case the views would most likely fluctuate depending on the whether or not the people search it up.
If you do not wish to work for a company, you can easily set-up a simple resume on a forum such as DigitalPoint. You can also hire people to write anything for you at DigitalPoint, but it isn't recommended because it often costs around $5 for 500 words. Most professionals will charge around $3 per 100 words, while high school and college students often write articles for around $0.50-$1.50 per 100 words. Forums like DigitalPoint don't just hire someone once; employers often hire people to write many different articles on a wide variety of topics and pay you according to the number of words you write and occasionally, the time it takes for you to write it. Some employers require the writer to write an article containing over 300 words with key words within an hour on a topic that the writer might not have even heard about! So it is recommended that you're very skilled on finding reliable resources quickly and knowing how to put it in your own words.
Overall, i think writing articles is a great way to make money if you're efficient in gathering resources and thinking out of the top of your head. Making money writing articles will only make you a decent amount if you can write quickly, clearly, and correctly. You also have to balance speed with quality because if you rush through your writing, you will often have grammar mistakes that you may not have seen.
